If you've already desperately been waiting for Google Voice to come to the Netherlands, this is for you!
XOIP added a 'find/follow me' functionality to all XOIP numbers. The feature - also known as a 'hunt group / ring group' - allows forwarding of incoming calls to multiple phone numbers and Skype simultaneously (find me) or one after the other (follow me).
The product has been successfully launched right in time for the 'Kennedymars Fryslan' on 27 and 28 August 2010 - a yearly 80km public hiking event . On a single XOIP number, the 500+ participants could reach any of the control center's mobile staff members for assistance at any time throughout the 2-day event.
Like many other users, the organizers were happy to have found an alternative to fixs.nl, a ring group service that suddenly disappeared a couple of weeks ago - and this even at much lower calling rates, with XOIP.

Call forwarding costs:
The 'find/follow me' feature can be used with all XOIP number types: XOIP Basic (084), XOIP Plus (087) and XOIP Local.
Forwarding incoming calls to Skype is always free. XOIP Plus numbers also allow free call forwarding to Dutch land-line and mobile phone numbers. XOIP Basic numbers can be forwarded to local numbers for free. All other forwarding options can be paid for with XOIP credits.

How to set up your 'find/follow me' group:
1. Go to your 'my numbers' tab in your account and click the 'edit' button right next to the number you would like to configure.
2. Scroll down to the call forwarding section, select 'find/follow me' and click on 'configure how and where to reach you'.
3. First select if you want several destinations to ring one after the other (follow me) or all simultaneously (find me).
Fill in your destinations and choose how long each number should ring.
The cost for the forwarding per destination will be displayed.
Click the 'save' button. Your changes will be activated within 5 minutes.
Smart suggestion:
- Fill in your phone numbers and Skype account in your profile. You can then directly select those numbers as destinations on this screen.
At the moment, Skype, Dutch land-line and mobile phone numbers are allowed as destinations. It will soon be possible to forward calls world wide.
